City Council Public Hearing (April 28, 2026)

The City Council will consider adoption of General Plan 2040 and related CEQA documents at its regular meeting on April 28, 2026. The “adoption-ready” General Plan 2040 is now available and may be reviewed on the Documents page of this website. A tracked change version has been provided to highlight the edits made to the November 2025 Public Review Draft.

Planning Commission Public Hearing (March 12, 2026)
Location: City Hall, 130 Avram Ave., Rohnert Park, CA 94928
On March 12, 2026. the Planning Commission held a public hearing on the General Plan. The hearing concluded with the adoption of two resolutions: the first recommending that the City Council certify the General Plan 2040 EIR and related CEQA documents, and the second recommending that the City Council adopt General Plan 2040. Planning Commission/City Council Study Session (February 5, 2026)
On February 5, 2026, the Planning Commission and City Council will be holding a study session on the Draft 2040 Rohnert Park General Plan. The purpose of the study session is to provide the Commission and Council with an opportunity to ask questions about the Draft Plan, become more familiar with its contents, and provide direction before the official public hearings begin in March.
The study session is scheduled for 5:30 to 7:30 and will take place at the Rohnert Park Community Center located at 5401 Snyder Lane. The public is invited to attend and an opportunity for public comment will be provided. The study session will be live-streamed on the City’s YouTube Channel; The video recording will be available on the City’s website for later viewing.
Planning Commission Meeting (December 11, 2025)
At the Planning Commission’s regular meeting on December 11, the Commission provided an opportunity for public comment on the Draft 2040 General Plan EIR. Additional comments on the EIR may be submitted in writing (via email, US mail, etc.) through January 16, 2026.

The Planning Commission received a status report on the Draft General Plan and EIR, including an updated timeline for adoption.

City Council Update: Visioning (November 27, 2018)
On November 27th, the City Staff gave a presentation to City Council, summarizing recent outreach on visioning for Rohnert Park's future. The presentation outlined the events and activities used to gain input and shared results from the outreach process. City Council was asked to provide input on the vision for the General Plan Update.
Visioning Community Workshop (November 8, 2018)
On November 8th at 5:30pm (City Hall Council Chambers, 130 Avram Avenue), the City held a General Plan workshop designed to get community input on the future of Rohnert Park, as well as areas of the city that could or should be reimagined or changed in the next 20 years.
